She had lived for a very long time, and her memory stretched on for centuries. And for as long as she could remember, he had always been there. As an equal, as a friend, as a protector, as an ally, as… as so many other things, but he had always been there.
She grew tired of several things. Her tastes would change every now and again, she would change her personality, maturing and changing her speculations. But he had never changed. He remained the same self-aggrandizing megalomaniac over the centuries.
Even now, a shell of the conqueror he was. His fall had barely changed him. He was the same as a hundred years ago, marching over the entire world, claiming everything he saw as his, fending off anyone who mentioned interest in her.
Though he could no longer protect her so diligently, though his reign was over, she could now fend for herself, as her own time in power began. She commanded her own army, should she want to do as he did and conquer the neighboring lands, she could have easily done so.
At first, it was hard to imagine him… not being in such power. She quickly got used to it, though, shielding him as he had once done to her. Under her protection, no one touched her nation, no one touched him. It seemed her time with him and greatly influenced her.
It was high time the world recognized her for herself, and not as a thing of his, not as something he controlled.
The world quickly got the message; she wasn’t touched, and neither was he. Because nobody messed with her things.
It was 1747 and she had never seen him so happy.
The once poor Nation of Prussia was slowly but surely becoming more powerful, and she got to see him mature and change, got to see that insane spark in his crimson eyes flash more and more often, and got to see his nimble fingers tracing over the hilt of his sword, in an almost reminiscing manner.
“Prussia,” Luxembourg practically whimpered to the boy swinging his sword. “You shouldn’t be so eager to follow the knights into battle. Don’t go looking for trouble…”
The silver-haired boy scoffed, slicing the air with his sword and listening to the sound it made as it cut through the silence. “I hate those bastard knights. I don’t even need ‘em anymore.” He smirked at her, looking over her shoulder. “And this is what I’m supposed to do, anyway! I’m not even halfway done! I told you I’d conquer the whole world someday, didn’t I?”
With that, Prussia swung his sword up and pointed it in the girls’ direction, still smirking confidently. “The world’ll be mine – which makes it yours too.”
She didn’t flinch. “You’ll have to share it with France and Belgium then, too.”
“Will not,” He scoffed. He looked away, lowered his sword (he could never admit that it was kind of heavy), and felt his cheeks heat up just a bit. “I’ll get rid of them sooner or later.”
Luxembourg pouted lightly, crossing her arms, her armor (much lighter than is) jingling quietly. “I happen to like Belgium and France.”
He smirked again, stepping just a bit closer to her. “I was here first, Luxey. First come, first serve. Now, if you don’t mind me, I’ve got some vital regions to claim!”
She rolled her eyes, stationed with the Celtic Knights who, as usual, stayed put and stayed peaceful. “As usual. You’d better not come back with her anything wounds or anything, Gilbert! Be careful! Don’t be so sure you’ll win!”
“Of course I’ll win,” He smiled, bowing the girl lightly. “I’m invincible, remember?”
